Most of us are not taught how to “deal” with or feel our emotions growing up as children. We therefore start using unhealthy ways to cope with our emotions such as stuffing them with food or escaping through alcohol and drugs. Some of us get really busy with work in order to ignore our emotions. Honestly, I’ve used them all in the past and they don’t really work…they just prolong the process and actually make it worse.
